Ministers of Communion help the priest in distributing Communion to members of the parish, both during Mass and to those who are homebound. It is a wonderful way to share Christ with other. Ministers may choose to serve only during Mass, or only to the homebound, or both. The candidate will go through a short training.
The candidate must be in "Good Standing" to become a Minister of Communion. "Good Standing" is defined by:
Has recieved all Sacraments
Must not be co-habitating
If married, has been married in the Catholic Church
Is a registered member of the parish
Regularly attends Mass
Receives the sacrament of Reconciliation regularly
