The St. Raphael Food Pantry exists to serve the community of Springdale by providing food for families in need. Our purpose is to share God’s love without discrimination in a visible and tangible way.
Food Pantry Hours of Operation :
Mondays 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
About the Food Pantry:
There is never a stopping point when it comes to the needs of the food pantry. We try to give people who come to us enough food to last for two to three days. That amounts to over 3,000 pounds of food each month – 550 to 1,000 individuals per month – plus special holiday handout of turkeys, etc. There are crews of volunteers who shop at the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank for food and then they load it unto trucks, unload it, sort it, box or bag it and stock the shelves. There are other crews of volunteers who bag up the food to give to the families, do the paperwork or clean the food pantry.
Records are kept on each family/person served in compliance with the Arkansas Food Bank program. The Food Pantry, also, has a nondiscrimination policy in compliance with state and federal laws.
The Food Pantry accepts donations of food, toiletries, diapers, baby formulas, money, etc. or your time to fulfill our mission of sharing God’s love with our neighbors – feeding the hungry. The Food Pantry cannot accept out dated products or opened containers.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Operating the Food Pantry – This position is available anytime the pantry is open. This involves being at the pantry during open hours, either running the front desk or assisting with bagging food for families and staying to restock the shelves after the pantry is closed.
Restocking the Pantry – This opportunity is available on Wednesday mornings. This involves assisting the rest of the restocking team with picking up the pick list orders from the Food Bank and restocking the shelves at the Food Pantry.
Circle of Grace - Safe Environment training is required for all volunteers in the Food Pantry.
